A Note from the Founder
Hi, I’m David Durham, the Founder and Principal Consultant at Brand Strategy AI.
I built Brand Strategy AI on a simple belief:
AI only creates value when it’s grounded in real business understanding.
My background is in IT Business Analysis — over a decade spent turning ambiguous goals into working systems, aligning busy stakeholders, and uncovering the real causes behind operational bottlenecks.
That experience is exactly what organisations need now.
AI strategy isn’t about choosing a model or a tool. It’s about diagnosing business problems, designing sensible solutions, and guiding people through change. It requires someone who can stand at the intersection of:
Business strategy
Process improvement
Technology delivery
Human behaviour
That’s where I’ve always worked — and it’s where AI succeeds or fails.
If your organisation wants to use AI in a focused, responsible, and practical way, I can help you find the right opportunities and make them stick.
Our Principles
How we approach AI strategy, transformation, and practical problem-solving.
These principles reflect more than a methodology — they come from years of helping organisations turn ideas into working systems, supporting teams through change, and designing solutions that make everyday work easier, not harder.
They guide every engagement, from the first diagnostic conversation to long-term transformation partnerships.
1. Start with the business problem
AI only creates value when it addresses something real.
Before discussing tools, models, or automation, we spend time understanding:
where work slows down
where decisions are bottlenecked
where teams feel friction
where quality varies
where opportunities are currently missed
This mirrors how I worked as a Business Analyst for over a decade: uncover the underlying problem first, then explore solutions. It ensures AI is applied with purpose, not enthusiasm.
2. Keep it simple and practical
Organisations don’t need complexity; they need clarity.
We translate fast-moving AI trends into straightforward, actionable guidance your teams can understand and act on. That might mean choosing the simplest tool, prototyping a small experiment, or creating a clear sequence of next steps.
Simplicity isn’t about doing less — it’s about doing what matters.
3. Human-first, technology-enabled
AI should help people do their best work, not replace or overwhelm them.
We look closely at:
how roles may shift
how workflows need to adapt
what support teams need
how to maintain trust and transparency
A solution only works when people accept it, understand it, and see its value. Human judgement remains central — AI simply extends capabilities.
4. Build solutions that fit your organisation
Every business has its own culture, constraints, tech stack, and pace of change.
Instead of generic frameworks, we shape solutions around:
what your systems can support
what your teams are ready for
your appetite for risk
your operational realities
This ensures every recommendation is realistic, sustainable, and achievable — not a textbook ideal.
5. Transparent, honest guidance
You’ll always get a clear, objective view — even if that means recommending:
you pause a project
you slow down adoption
you refine your data foundations first
or that AI isn’t the right tool for a particular problem
No hype. No inflated promises. Just grounded, practical advice shaped by experience, not trends.
6. Partnership over transactions
AI transformation doesn’t happen through documents. It happens through collaboration.
We work alongside your leaders, teams, and technical partners to make sure each step:
is understood
is communicated
is supported
and is integrated into real work
This partnership mindset helps organisations build internal confidence, not dependency.
7. Progress through iteration
AI is not a one-off project; it’s an ongoing evolution.
We help organisations move forward through small, well-designed steps:
diagnose → prototype
test → learn
refine → scale
Each cycle builds capability, reduces risk, and creates proof points that build momentum. Iteration removes fear and replaces it with clarity.
8. Design for long-term value
The goal isn’t just to “use AI” — it’s to strengthen how your business thinks, works, and delivers value.
That means:
better decision-making
more resilient operations
clearer insight
increased capacity
healthier teams
and systems that support strategic growth
AI becomes a tool for organisational evolution, not a passing trend.
